English is the medium of instruction and Examination.
In the case of Islamic Studies, it is Urdu/English at the choice of the student.
(as per UET, Taxila)
The performance of students is evaluated through a continuous testing procedure spread over the entire period of studies as under:‑

Following types of examinations (as per examination policy of UET) are conducted for each subject:‑
Unannounced Quizzes:
There shall be appropriate number (approx 2 per credit hour) of unannounced
quizzes per subject in a semester.
Home Assignments:There shall be appropriate number (approx 2 per credit hour) of
home assignments per subject in a semester.
Midterm examination: It is conducted centrally in the 9th week of each semester.
The duration of midterm examination is 1.5 - 2.0 hours.
Final examination:
It is conducted centrally in the 18th and 19th week of each semester covering
the entire
syllabus of the semester. The duration of final examination is 2 .00 - 3.00 hours.
Lab examinations:
These are conducted by lab engineers in consultation with the concerned faculty
member twice in
a semester, i.e., during the middle and end of the semester.
Note: In case of courses without lab/practical work, the weighting of the final
examination will be 60%.

Each academic year is divided into two semesters Spring and Fall, commencing in
the second week of February and last week of August respectively.
Maximum duration of each semester is 20 weeks, (17 weeks for studies and three weeks
for examinations) Duration of the B.Sc Electrical Engineering (Electronic / Telecommunication),
BS Software Engineering, BBA (Hons) and B.Sc (Accounting & Finance) programme
will be eight semesters and MBA programme is of four semesters.
Maximum period for obtaining the Degree will not exceed 14 semesters in B.Sc Electrical
Engineering (Electronic / Telecommunication), BS Software Engineering, BBA (Hons)
and B.Sc (Accounting & Finance) and 10 semesters for MBA (90-96 credit hours)
and 06 semesters for MS programme.
